Electrical Engineer

Overview

Responsible for preparing electrical design drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates for project implementation and bidding while ensuring compliance with codes and company standards. Oversees contractor work, reviews tenant electrical plans, supervises installations, and conducts site inspections to ensure quality and safety. Also supports procurement, prepares regulatory reports, manages preventive maintenance programs, and serves as the company’s Pollution Control Officer (PCO) and Energy Auditor. Provides technical support during project execution and emergency situations.

Duties and Responsibilities

    a. Prepares detailed design drawings and technical specifications that shall be used for cost estimation, bidding evaluation, and actual project implementation.
    b. Ensures that all designs are compliant with applicable codes, company standards, and operational requirements and are suitable for construction execution.
    c. Prepares budgetary and detailed cost estimates for contracted works and tenants’ additional electrical and auxiliary requirements, in coordination with MMSD, to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
    d. Updates and refines design documents as necessary based on cost optimization, technical review, and operational feedback, without compromising constructability and performance.
    2. Acts as technical consultant/adviser on electrical designs during pre-bid and bid meetings, clarifying design intent, scope, and technical requirements.
    3. Prepares bid abstracts and collates technical and commercial documents submitted by prospective pre-qualified contractors for evaluation and recommendation.
    4. Prepares Purchase Requisition Slips (PRS) for owner-supplied electrical, mechanical, and auxiliary equipment and materials.
    5. Coordinates with MMSD on the procurement process and follows up the delivery status of requested equipment and materials to ensure project timelines are met.
    6. Prepares inspection, testing, and accomplishment reports upon project completion and transmits the same to concerned departments and authorized signatories.
    7. Reviews and checks tenants’ electrical rehabilitation plans for compliance with approved standards, codes, and company requirements.
    8. Supervises and monitors various electrical works as requested by other departments, ensuring proper execution and quality workmanship.
    9. Attends periodic training programs, seminars, and workshops offered or recommended by the company and department head to maintain technical competence.
    10. Prepares and submits quarterly and semi-annual regulatory reports to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Department of Energy (DOE).
    11. Acts as the company’s Pollution Control Officer (PCO) and Energy Auditor, ensuring compliance with environmental and energy regulations.
    12. Performs other tasks and functions that may be assigned from time to time by management or the department head.
    13. Reviews and evaluates contractor work progress, billing statements, and variation orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with approved scope, drawings, and specifications.
    14. Ensures that all electrical and mechanical installations comply with applicable laws, codes, standards, and safety regulations, including the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), Building Code, and Fire Code.
    15. Conducts regular and special site inspections to identify system deficiencies, safety hazards, and improvement opportunities, and recommends corrective and preventive actions.
    16. Prepares, implements, and updates preventive maintenance programs for electrical and mechanical systems across managed properties.
    17. Assists in the evaluation, accreditation, and performance review of vendors and contractors providing electrical, mechanical, and auxiliary services.
    18. Assists in budget planning, forecasting, and monitoring of expenses related to electrical and mechanical maintenance, repairs, and capital expenditures.
    19. Performs emergency response and technical support duties during critical system failures, power interruptions, natural disasters, or other emergency situations.

Qualifications

    - Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with PRC License (Registered Electrical Engineer)
    - Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in:
    - Electrical system design and supervision
    - Building facilities maintenance and operations
    - Electrical and mechanical project implementation
    - Cost estimation, bidding, and contractor coordination
    - Willing to work in Makati City

Knowledgeable in AutoCAD operation Well adapt in both written and oral communication.
